Standalone Prime Video and a full Amazon Prime membership are different purchases. This guide separates them, shows Amazon’s real annual membership price, and accounts for the optional Prime Video Ultra upgrade.

At $8.99 per month, video-only service costs $107.88 over 12 months. There is no separate annual video-only price in Amazon’s current public offer, so it remains a monthly subscription.
Full Prime
Twelve monthly Prime payments total $179.88, while the annual membership is $139.00. That annual option costs $31.12 more than 12 months of video-only service, before valuing delivery and the other Prime benefits.
Eligible discounts
Prime for Young Adults is $7.49 monthly or $69.00 annually for eligible customers. Prime Access is $6.99 monthly for eligible recipients. Verify eligibility with Amazon before comparing those figures with regular Prime.
Ultra add-on
Ultra costs $4.99 monthly, or $45.99 annually with annual Prime. Annual Prime plus annual Ultra totals $184.99. Ultra removes most ads and adds 4K/UHD, Dolby Atmos, more downloads, and another stream, but live and select content can still contain ads.
